Questions To Ask Before Booking An Outdoor Venue

Spring and summer are right around the corner, and so is the season for outdoor weddings. If you’re thinking about having an outdoor wedding, there are some important things to consider. Here are a few questions you should ask before booking an outdoor venue:

Is there electricity? This may seem like a simple question, but not all outdoor venues come with electricity and lighting included. You should make sure to ask your venue whether or not there’s electricity and lighting on the site; if there isn’t, you should ask if getting electricity to your venue is a possibility. You might not need light during the day, but having power might be important when it comes to entertainment and catering.

Is furniture/decor included? Make sure that your guests are comfortable. Ask your wedding venue if they can provide you with furniture and other wedding items for rent. If they can’t, ask if they can recommend a vendor who will do this for you. If a venue does decor as well, make sure that they are able to decorate how you want it. Some venues won’t allow an outside decorator to come in, so take that into consideration when choosing a venue.

Are there bathrooms? It may seem silly, but don’t forget to ask about toilets. Depending on how remote your outdoor venue is, there might not be restrooms nearby. Porta Potties might be the only option, so consider whether or not that will be an issue for you or your guests.

What will the weather be like? You can’t predict the weather, but you can ask your venue what normal weather is like during that time of the year. If it’s possible that there will be rain, wind or snow, see if your venue has an indoor or tent option.

What should my guests wear? Ask your venue what type of attire is suitable for the venue. If you’re outside, consider what shoes you might need to wear. If there isn’t a lot of shade, you should recommend wearing sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, etc. to your guests.

We can’t wait for more warm, outdoor weddings. Plan accordingly and your outdoor wedding will be a day to remember!
