Be Disaster Ready for your Wedding!

Are you ready for whatever happens at your wedding?

Are you ready for whatever happens at your wedding?

Sometimes, no matter how much you plan, there are still a lot of things that could go wrong. How to avoid wedding disasters and how to make sure you react the best way possible? Here are some tips you might want to know:

·       Vendors pulling a disappearing act. There are many reasons a vendor may “disappear” on you – they are double-booked, they cannot pull off your requests or simply they are not reliable enough. It can be hard to go through this kind of “event”, but the important thing is that you pull yourself together and search for the best solution: another vendor, a friend who can help with either a recommendation or actually provide the service for you, doing things on your own. Think thoroughly, analyze your situation and keep yourself as calm as possible – these things happen without your involvement in them and it is crucial that you find solutions instead of allowing yourself to despair.

·       Wedding dress is ruined. There are instances when brides find themselves owning a wedding dress that’s completely ruined. Ordering the dress online from dubious stores, for example, could result in you being sent a dress that’s completely different than what you thought you were buying. In these cases, the best thing to do is see if the dress can be repaired with the help of a good seamstress. If not, try to look into other options, even if they are more unconventional (especially if you feel that you don’t have enough time to order, receive and alter a new gown before the Big Day).

·       RSVPs that don’t get returned in time. We know, this is a wedding planning nightmare many brides are going through – and if you are among them, you should know how important it is that you maintain yourself as anxiety-free as possible. Call the people who haven’t returned their RSVPs and politely ask them if they can attend the wedding, so that you know your headcount. If you still cannot get all your responses, try to find solutions that would work in both case scenarios (if the guests turn up or if they don’t). For example, you could add more seats to the ceremony and you could replace the seated dinner with a buffet.
