2 Alternatives to Pre-Wedding Parties

2 Alternatives to Pre-Wedding Parties

Party alternatives

Party alternatives

Many couples have had to postpone or minimize their wedding because of this pandemic. But no one is really talking about the pre-wedding parties we also love. What happened to them? We mean the bridal showers, engagement parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties. They are very important too. If you’re planning your wedding and wondering what to do in place of these, we’ve got some answers. Here are three alternatives that we at New Mexico Wedding Expos and Guides think would work just fine.

The Drive-by Shower

Remember those lovely drive by moments parents did so their kids could say hi to their teachers? It may not sound like too much fun but you should consider it. Your wedding should not happen without at least a shower of some sort. Send out invitations early enough and get to planning. You’ll need to organize a route, a lead driver and a set time for the meet up prior. Then you can do fun décor and even include a throne for the bride to sit on. The last thing you need is an exchange station where guests can leave their gift and get a favor. It is safe, exciting and certainly Instagram worthy. What do you think?

A Virtual Engagement Party

Everyone has had virtual interactions of some sort since this pandemic started. Lectures, work meetings and more have happened over Zoom. Well guess what? Your engagement can too! Virtual interactions are a reliable way to keep in touch and stay safe. For your virtual engagement party, you’ll need to pick a date and send an email link with the online address to your invitees. You can also decorate your background and encourage your guests to do the same. When it’s time, set up your camera, go live and toast to your engagement.

We have tips like these and more on our blog here at New Mexico Wedding Expos and Guides. We also love to connect couples with every expert they need to make their wedding a success. Are you looking for the best vendors to handle your event? We’ve got you covered. All you have to do is contact us today.
