4 Tips for Vetting Your Wedding Photographer

4 Tips for Vetting Your Wedding Photographer

Choosing the right photographer

Choosing the right photographer

Not hiring a professional photographer is one of the main regrets on surveys of couples after the weddings. You don’t get that time back and hiring the wrong person (who will be with you all day, on a most stressful day) can leave you with regret. These photos will stay with you for the rest of your life. So, hiring a wedding photographer is not something to be taken lightly. How can you then ensure that you pick the right one? The following tips from us can help.

·  The Great Search

Check out wedding blogs, look at social media and then attend bridal shows like ours. You’ll meet those photographers at our shows and you can then use each company’s work to narrow down your search. Reviews from friends who got married recently will come in handy too.

·  The Portfolio Reviews

Try to look at complete weddings they’ve done so you can pick out any weaknesses you may not want at your wedding. This is one of the most personal parts of picking a photographer so be sure to do it right. Also, check for their strengths and editing too.

·  Their Work Reviews

Look for patterns. If many of the people reviewing are pointing out a particular flaw, you should probably accept their word and decide if it is one you don’t mind. You should also understand that no one can please everyone all of the time.

·  The Interviews

When interviewing your potential photographer, ask as many questions as you want. Ask about their process, their experience, and their prices. Also, ask about the rights that come with your pictures including personal reprint rights. A great way to also vet your photographer is by using them for your engagement session. If you love how they work on that day, go right ahead but if not, please get someone else that you’d be compatible with.
