Have you decided to have a surprise wedding? Then this article is for you. A surprise wedding can turn out to be quite fun. You just have to be creative with it. How can you get creative with a surprise wedding you ask? Read on to find out.

·  The Right Officiant

For your surprise wedding, get a celebrant that has handled surprise weddings before. They’ll know when and how to arrive and might even have good tips on how you can best carry out your wedding.

·  Create A Cover Event

Surprise weddings work best if your guests believe that they are celebrating something else. You could use, for example, a birthday. This is the perfect excuse to get all your friends together in one place.

·  Choose A Good Venue

If you invite your people to say a church for your birthday, it might be a little suspicious. For your surprise wedding, the location must suit both your cover story and your wedding. It should also have enough space for your guests.

·  The Invitations

Specify a time on your invitations and make it known that the time is important. Also, specify that other important things can happen so that they come early and don’t leave before the surprise has happened. But whatever you do, do not use the word surprise.

·  Don’t Tell Too Many People

The element of surprise only works if people do not know beforehand. The fewer people you tell, the better! With a large group of people, it would be that much easier for the secret to getting out. You might need for example to tell some long-distance friends in other to get them to make the journey. Just remember to tell them to keep it secret and not ruin the surprise.

·  Forgo the Formalities

We mean, it is a surprise wedding after all! You can’t expect your friends, for example, to come up with a wedding speech on the spot. In your surprise wedding, you might have to forgo some formalities and that’s acceptable and okay.
