Congratulations, you’re engaged! Time to find a dress, create a menu, decide on a venue, taste some food, make a guest list and pick a wedding party. What’s more, if the stress of planning a wedding wasn’t enough, you caught a glimpse of yourself in the mirror this morning and dreadfully discovered you aren’t in the best shape of your life. Have no fear, even though there is now a strict timeline for you to reach your peak physique, it doesn’t mean it cannot be done! With a healthy diet and a convenient workout plan, anything is possible!
Workout Tips
The most important thing about your wedding workout schedule is you must not treat it like your New Year’s resolution workout schedule. To get the best results, you have to start early and stick to it. You also need to find the right workout plan for you. Take a moment to evaluate yourself. What do you see that you would like to improve? Are you strictly looking to lose weight or would you like to tone your muscles as well? What kind of workouts are you most likely to stick to? Do you find your stride running the pavement or do you prefer working with machines? Once you find the answers to some basic questions, you can start preparing your workout calendar.
It is important to hold yourself accountable. Once you determine the types of workouts you want to do, figure out the best rotation for doing them, and put that schedule down on paper. If your calendar says run three miles today, you need to clear out an hour or so in your day and tie up your laces! Check out this 6-month plan to give you an idea of how you can create your own customized workout calendar.
The Diet
Everywhere you go they tell you it’s not one or the other, it takes both diet and exercise to achieve your ideal body. Not only will the proper diet help keep your body in shape, it will help you feel better as well. If you are eating the right types of food in the right quantities, your skin will shine, you will lower your stress level and you will decrease the amount of toxins in your body. You just have to know the right tricks.
First, make sure you are putting the best food possible into your system. Whether it’s a spoonful of sugar or a stalk of celery, if you are eating organic produce instead of processed foods full of chemicals and preservatives, you are doing yourself a favor.
Organic food is full of nutrients so your body will be getting the most back from every bite of food you ingest. Once you ensure most of your food is organic, make sure it contains things like fiber, fatty acid gamma-linoleic – GLA – and magnesium instead of salts and sugars. Fiber will help you feel fuller longer and remove any toxins from your system while GLA, found in hemp seeds, will give your skin, hair and nails a healthy glow and magnesium will relax your muscles and relieve some of that wedding stress.
While your body does need salt and sugars, it is important not to overdo it, especially because you should be keeping your body hydrated throughout your diet and workout program, and salt makes your body retain water so you will feel bloated.
You have to view your ideal body the same way you view your wedding. You are creating a plan for your wedding and following it. The same approach must be taken here. Imagine your dream body, create the customized path to get there and start down that path – and don’t look back.
