Congratulations on your engagement! You must be really excited about it – and that’s totally understandable given the huge declaration of love you have just received!
How to plan the perfect engagement party? What are some etiquette tips to really keep in mind when doing this? We have some tips for you.
· Take your time. Your families will probably meet each other no more than one week after the engagement. However, that doesn’t mean you should rush the engagement party – in fact, you shouldn’t even throw it in the first month of your engagement. This will give you enough time to think through all of the details and plan something that’s congruent with your wedding style too.
· DO register for gifts. Sure, registering for gifts is something you mainly do for the wedding itself. Still, there will be guests who might want to bring an engagement gift as well – and offering them a wedding registry to choose from is a really great idea if you want to make it easier for them.
· Create a wise engagement party guest list. Etiquette says you should always invite your engagement party guests to the wedding too – so make sure you invite only people you are 100% certain will be invited at the wedding too. Also, try to make this less intimidating for your families by balancing out “his side” with “your side”.
